In this special event for International Women’s Day our members again took to the stage to present, this time about the women who had inspired them.
It was great to hear about so many incredible women!
Guest speaker Georgie Kemp spoke to us about voice search, and it’s power to change digital marketing.
Guest speaker Freya took us through the book “The Unicorn Project” , discussing it’s themes through summary, extracts and personal anecdotes.
Our first Lightning Talks event focused on the projects that inspire us the most. Our members had a chance to give short talks about their own projects - it was great to learn more about some of our members and what they are passionate about!
We had a fantastic evening exploring imposter syndrome: what it is, how to recognise it and how we can deal with it.
We even took the presentation to other meetup groups!
Our very own Steph Taylor-Beal gave a talk about her experiences in tech as a disabled woman, and finding her strength and humour in difficult situations.
